I would like to contribute my experiences in terrestrial ecosystem dynamics and the short-medium-long term effects of disturbances on forest ecosystems, including anthropogenic land use, land cover change, to any new or ongoing project. I work with process based dynamic vegetation models and bid data, and simulate spatio-temporal distribution of forest taxa, analyse potential range shifts of vegetation groups based on climatic drivers, and test changes in diversity depending on changes in potential parameters and/or changes in disturbance cycles: wildfires to be more specific. I'm also currently conducting in situ assessments of post-wildfire dynamics in a Mediterranean mountain range, a former Pinus halepensis reserve, looking at ecological succession, slope erosion, wind damage, as well as other land-atmosphere feedbacks.
I would be interested in joining a multi-disciplinary project researching the effects of biodiversity loss on resilience of terrestrial ecosystems, and ecosystem services. Additionally, research focusing on the disturbance cycles and their linkages to biodiversity and resilience is also of interest.
