Vid Švara (he) is a senior researcher at the UNESCO Chair for Sustainable Management of Conservation Areas. He is a biologist with an expertise in biodiversity research, genetic identification methods, and ecological effects of freshwater pollutants on biota. Vid is leading the implementation of genetic identification methods in several projects of the UNESCO Chair spanning from biodiversity assessment from environmental samples to species identification in freshwater and terrestrial ecosystems. The identification approaches are based on organismal samples, as well as on environmental samples (eDNA).
