Eilat is part of the 100 cities mission, aimed to reach climate neutrality by 2030. The uniqueness of Eilat City lies in its ecological assets, the scarce coral reef, the remoteness from other communities, the extreme desert weather conditions, and its achievements as a leader in energy efficiency - 100% of the city's daytime electricity is from renewable sources. We are leading numerous R&D projects and innovative pilots in the fields of coastal protection, sustainable development, green energy and smart transportation.
WE PROPOSE EILAT AS A DEMO-SITE TO TEST THE PROJECT’S RESULTS We take part in building strategies that take into account regulation, citizens' welfare, environmental protection and the economy’s growth; Sustainable development is our key priority. We have a designated Smart City team of professionals who are dedicated to implementing innovative and sustainable solutions in the Eilat-Eilot regio

We propose Eilat as a demo site to test nature based solutions in an arid climate. Eilat hosts a diversity of sites that could be relevant to this call. We have already ongoing projects promoting nature based solutions and we see this call as an opportunity to develop more and exchange expertise.
