I am looking for a partner (for my project)
Dr. Gunda Herberth (female) is senior scientist in the Department of Environmental Immunology and the PI of the mother-child cohort LINA (Lifestyle and environmental factors and their Influence on Newborns Allergy risk) which is performed at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Reserach-UFZ in cooperation with clinical partners. Her research is focused on the impact of environmental factors on immune system development and the risk for allergic and metabolic diseases as well as behavioural disorders in early childhood. She has a profound experience in the functional analysis of immune cells and the analysis of immune parameters in longitudinal population-based studies. Her main aim is to identify early markers for dysregulated immune responses as predictors for environmental-induced disease development. Beside the cohort studies she develops new methods for the measurement of immune parameters and in vitro assays for the mechanistic validation of the epidemiological cohort data. At the moment her research focus is on the microbiome-immune system interaction.
