I am the Principal Investigator (PI) at the Laboratory of Immunology and Virology at the National Institute of Amazonian Research- INPA, Manaus, Brazil. My research has focused on the epidemiology of emerging and re-emerging viruses, host-pathogen interaction, and bioprospection of natural and semi-synthetic substances. My main specialties include molecular biology, immunohistochemistry, immunoassays, cell culture, animal manipulation, epidemiology and clinical immunology. Our research group is starting a new project on the characterization of virome diversity and abundance in amazonian rivers.
