I am a marine scientist, with a PhD in marine biology and mainly working on marine zoobenthos (corals, sponges, tunicates, bryozoans), coral taxonomy and in-situ transplantation, the coral-based and algae-based (Posidonia, Cymocodocea, Zostera) habitats, marine biotechnology, biodiversity and invertebrate monitoring mostly around marine reserves in the Turkish Straits System, the North Aegean Sea and in the Mediterranean Sea. As one the master scientific diver in the field (-100m/adv.TDI, CMAS Ins. Scubaforce Rebreather Tec.Div.) and the founder the first coral-based (Cladocora caespitosa) marine protected area in the Turkish Seas, I am also doing research in mesophotic zone associated to the gorgonian coral areas and other invertebrate-based facies living in some cryptic conditions around rocky overhangs, caves, wrecks, artificial reefs etc. I am very interested to make investigation as well in more specific locations like the Arctic and Antarctic cold conditions, Icelandic, Scottish and Irish research, deep water benthos, invertebrate ecology, adaptations and distributional differences of marine biota. I am also excited to be a part of some research vessel-supported international projects on marine science and am fully open and highly adaptable in the open sea active works.
