Biodiversa Joint Research Call 2022-2023 on "Improved transnational monitoring of biodiversity and ecosystem change for science and society (BiodivMon)"
I am an urban ecologist with diverse training covering topics in urban biodiversity, wildlife biology, conservation actions, gender mainstreaming in natural resource management and climate change. My major focus is to understand how land cover and socio-economic factors are driving biodiversity patterns in cities across continents and how different green infrastructure components benefit biodiversity in urban areas. Through my work, I try to facilitate research that helps to minimise the knowledge gap in urban ecology.
Currently, I am contributing to improving wildlife documentation in urban areas of one European city, Freiburg. The project is in collaboration with 'Urban Wildlife Information Network (UWIN)' and placed at the department of Wildlife Ecology and Management, University of Freiburg (https://www.wildlife.uni-freiburg.de/en/research/ongoing/urban-wildlife-information-in-freiburg-uwif). I would be interested in collaborating with any organisation/project that focuses on strengthening animal diversity documentation and monitoring in cities in/beyond Europe.
