Biodiversa Joint Research Call 2022-2023 on "Improved transnational monitoring of biodiversity and ecosystem change for science and society (BiodivMon)"
I am expert in proximal sensing, remote sensing, radiative transfer modeling and data assimilation and estimation of . I have wide experience in the use of hyperspectral, multispectral, sun-induced chlorophyll fluorescence and thermal information to characterize vegetation and ecosystem properties, including essential biodiversity variable. I am currently focused on characterizing plant functional diversity from space (e.g., https://doi.org/10.1016/j.rse.2022.113170).
Biogeochemistry
Remote Sensing
I would like to participate in a project which wants to make use of new metrics and techniques to characterize plant functional diversity using remote sensing, and exploit this information in the context of biogeochemistry. Our department has wide expertise on the use of remote sensing data at global and regional scales and the modeling and study of biogeochemical cycles. In the last years we have developed or evaluated new techniques and metrics that we would like to improve and exploit in an operational context.
