I am looking for a project to join
I am the Chairholder of Environmental Management at the IHI Zittau, TU Dresden since 2020. Our Chair dedicates to the research field of corporate biodiversity management and offers biodiversity-related lectures such as Biodiversity Management and Sustainability and Resource Management. We are familiar with qualitative research, i.e. interviews, content analysis, accompanying research, etc. Besides this, we are executing a research project building a network for biodiversity-friendly textiles. This project aims to raise awareness of biodiversity topics in the textile sector, identify their challenges to implement biodiversity management in their business operations, and explore solutions to support overcoming the biodiversity crises in the supply chain. Moreover, we work with the German Council for Sustainable Development (RNE) through a project on sustainable management and reporting of the sustainability code (DNK) and had experience working internationally with interdisciplinary partners by coordinating an EU project proposal under Horizon Europe. Sustainability assessment at universities is another research focus area of our Chair with a project promoting sustainability reporting on higher education fields funded by the German Federal Environmental Foundation (DBU). Combining both research fields, our Chair founded Working Group Biodiversity at our university, aiming to become a pioneer and serve as a good example of how universities can support biodiversity preservation.
Management sciences
Extending from our research fields and expertise, we would like to join a project that focuses on Theme 3 “Making use of available biodiversity monitoring data” which also is interested in understanding how available biodiversity monitoring data is/ can be best used in the transnational public/ private sectors. To put this more in detail, how private sectors can make use of the existing biodiversity monitoring data to, for example, implement biodiversity management and develop methods for reaching a biodiversity-oriented supply chain can be an interesting Work Package of our interests. We can imagine offering our academic skills for publications in this area that are still full of potential. This can also contribute to one of the goals of the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030 to support nature-based solutions in the private sector. (843 characters)
