Young researcher in a field of the fisheries ecology and aquaculture working mainly in Neotropical Rivers (South America) of the Brazil. Experience in work field in the Amazon River Basin (Northern Brazil) and the Uruguay River Basin (Southern Brazil). Impact analysis of hydroelectric dams on inland fisheries, focused in the Neotropical migratory fish. Many studies with fish larvae and eggs in Neotropical Rivers.

Hydroconnectivity in Tropical Waters. The project intends to analyze the role of small and medium hydropower plants in the ecology of tropical rivers, focusing on four ecological dimensions: river hydrodynamics, fish, microbial life and climate change. This project emerged from a context of increasing small and medium-sized hydroelectric projects that, empirically, can cause less environmental damage to tropical rivers than big hydroelectric dams. However, holistic and deterministic studies are needed to understand the influence of these smaller projects on the ecology of tropical rivers. This project was presented at Biodiversa 2021 and brought together a team of researchers from several countries that make up this call: South Africa, Brazil, Denmark, Romania and Slovenia. It is a multidisciplinary project involving a collaborative network for the conservation of tropical rivers in the Western Amazon and Southern Africa. Join with us! We need collaborators!
river ecology, fisheries, tropical limnology, biogeochemistry, bacterial ecology, climate change.
