Biodiversa Joint Research Call 2022-2023 on "Improved transnational monitoring of biodiversity and ecosystem change for science and society (BiodivMon)"
I am an Oceanographer with seafloor mapping expertise. I have been working on a wide range of seafloor mapping and imaging techniques, involving hydro-acoustic datasets from multi-beam echo-sounders. I have broad experience with GIS and image analysis applications such as supervised classification, Object-Based Image Analysis, geostatistics and geomorphology. Over the last years, I was involved in several projects from coastal zone monitoring to deep-sea habitat mapping and he has developed various geospatial tools and workflows for seafloor characterization as well as for bathymetry retrieval using optical sensors. My latest research work focuses on the integration of drone/satellite imagery with unmanned surface vehicle observations for shallow seafloor mapping.
**Currently not affiliated with an Institute, but this status will be defined in the beginning of collaboration**
I am looking for projects related to thematic area 1: " Innovation and harmonization of methods and tools for collection and management of biodiversity monitoring data"
Particularly interested in projects on: benthic habitat mapping spanning from wetland and coastal areas to deep seafloor.
