I am looking for a project to join
Manuel Martinez-Garcia (hereinafter MMG) has published in reputed multidisciplinary journals (Science, PNAS, Nature Communications, Nature Biotechnology or Cell) and also in high-impact journals, like ISME within the Microbial Ecology. In 2020, Nature recognized MMG´s research on marine environments, and invited him to publish a review on new techniques to study biodiversity based on single-cell and virus technologies in Nat Rev Microb (IF of 60.63). In 2021, MMG´s research was highlighted in a special Nature Feature addressing the most relevant worldwide discoveries within environmental virology/microbiology (https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-021-01749-7), and it addressed the progress of MMG´s research, which clearly support his impact. MMG is Associated Editor in Frontiers in Microbiology/Virology Journals. MMG has been PI of several international projects, with being the first European PI awarded by highly competitive DOE-USA grants, which are at the similar competitive level as the European grants. MMG has been funded by the American Joint Genome Institute, which is the leading institution on Microbial Genomics and Metagenomics. MMG has been the first Spanish microbial ecologist to be funded by the American Gordon Moore Foundation; a prestigious funding agency on Microbial Ecology and biodiversity. MMG received the International Immunology Spring Award. MMG has been continuously funded by the Spanish Government. He leads a group on microbial biodiversity

Given my expertise and skills, I´ll be thrilled to join to -either- a broad or a very focus project that take into account microbes, which are one of the main components that fuel our biological engine in the biosphere.
