VTT Ltd. is a customer-oriented multi-technological organization for applied research. It is an impartial, not-for-profit company owned by the Finnish Government. The team holds expertise in: the characterization of microbial diversity (bacteria, archaea, fungi) in different environments from foods to soil and deep subsurface environments, ‘Omics’ technologies and bioinformatics, microbial activity, enzymatic activity testing, biocontrols for plant pathogens, VTT’s culture collection containing 6800 microbial isolates, molecular biological methods (qPCR) related to carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus cycling and bacterial, archaeal, and fungal abundance.
