I am looking
for a partner (for my project)
Environmental engineer with MsC in development project management. Expertise in ecology and environmental impact assessment, with skills in remote sensing, water quality assessments and ecosystem monitoring. Actually working in Fundació Assut, a private study and conservancy entity dedicated to agriculture protection in l'Albufera de Valencia and Horta de València, carrying out environmental monitoring (water, populations fauna&flora, landscape, agriculture).
Ongoing projects: Land Stewardship in paddy fields and research project in rice-ecosystems interaction
The strategy of the custody agreement is based on “win-win” negotiation, so that the actions are doubly oriented towards improving biodiversity and benefiting agricultural activity. To do this, they go first through the diagnosis of the problems and the definition of the challenges that rice cultivation poses in a Natural Park such as L'Albufera and, on the other hand, through the recognition of the advantages and opportunities that it must mean for the producer the fact of cultivating rice in a protected area, essential for the conservation of biodiversity. The strategy has seven action programs:
– Program 1: Integration and adaptation of cultivation practices. – Program 2: Actions to improve the natural and human landscape. – Program 3: Sustainable hunting use. – Program 4: Diversification of activities compatible with agriculture. – Program 5: Actions to improve and restore the habitat for biodiversity. – Program 6: Research work. – Program 7: Participation, dissemination and outreach.
Establishment of protocols to systematize the collection of information (information surveys) on birds, water, soil nutrients and habitat. These are protocols that allow the obtaining of environmental monitoring results and the triangulation (compared relationship between various sources) of field data through technologies such as remote sensing, crop sensors and the analysis of water and soil and biological indicators (macroinvertebrates and birds).
