I have been studying the influence of different environmental factors abundance, species richness and diversity of forest insect species, with the focus on leaf miners. I published multiple SCI papers on the influence of urbanization, forest regeneration, tree species, etc. on insects. I have also been engaged in studying interactions between forest insect species and other environmental factors such as root pathogens, CO2 concentration, etc. In my other research I studied insect fauna, invasive species, and possibilities of suppression of pest insects with biological measures. By studying the above mentioned I gained significant insight, and accumulated a lot of references that deal with insect diversity, and the interactions between insect communities and biotic/abiotic environmental factors that can contribute to projects such as this one.
