My expertise / skills : I am basically Marine Biologist and marine bioactive compounds and the utilization of marine organisms for the betterment of society are the field of my specialization. Moreover, I am a conventional taxonomist of marine mollusk. I have two ongoing research projects funded by Department of Science and Technology(DST), Govt. of India and Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), Govt. of India. Our ongoing research projects are involving the utilization of targeted marine resources for development of beneficial products to the human society. I have published more-than 75 publications in national and international journals. The keywords are: Marine Biology, Marine Biotechnology, Marine mollusc, Bioactive compounds, marine fishes.

the partner(s) should work on :
Marine Biology
Keywords : marine fish trashes, by-catch resources, bay-of-bengal, fishery resources, untargeted fishing.
Project description : Project Theme: Assessment of Valuable Marine Resources from the Bio Trashes of Fish landing centre in east coast of Tamilnadu, India.

A lot of bio-trashes have been dumped into the landing centre due to the untargeted fishing practices in our coast. Apart from the fishes, a lot of other valuable resources have been exploited and dumped as waste into the coastal ecosystem to create the marine pollution. All these dumped waste which consisting of valuable resources interms of species diversity, species richness. As a conventional marine taxonomist, we could be identified the valuable species. The modern taxanomist will be required to identify the various marine organisms and we can create a new platform for the conservation of valuable marine resources from the Bay of Bengal region around the Tamilnadu, east coast of India. Therefore, the international collaborators will be share their hands to asses the by-catch resources and their important.
Networking opportunities : Marine Biodiversity, marine biology, marine biological resources, marine coastal ecosystem and marine coastal ecosystem complex and assessment of fishery resources.
