My expertise / skills : I am specialized in biodiversity dynamics across spatial and temporal scales (from local to global, including environmental and eco-evolutionary dynamics) and across levels of ecological organization (from individuals to metacommunities). I mostly implement and apply eco-evolutionay mechanistic simulation models for metacommunities in landscapes with enviromental gradients and dynamics. Key study questions concern how biodiversity emerge, evolve, coexist and maintain itself under dynamic and heterogeneous environments, including human-induced changes (climate change, habitat loss, harvesting/exploitation and invasive species). The models are foces mostly on plants, but they can be also modified for animals.
Disciplines
I am working on :
Zoology
Phylogenetics
Genetics and heredity (excluding Medical Genetics)

Keywords : niche model, mechanisms, eco-evolutionary feedbacks, biodiversity, range dynamics, demography, dispersal, recruitment, competition, multualism
Project description : I would like to join projects that focus on the role of one or more human-induced environmental change on biodiversity, mostly on population sizes, species richness, biomass, range and distributions.
Networking opportunities : Ecological modelling in Salzburg
