My expertise / skills : I am a climate scientist interested in the regional impacts of climate change with undergraduate and post-graduate degrees in zoology and biodiversity. I currently specialise in climate dynamical downscaling and understanding the regional impact of a warming climate in the African context.

Additionally, to be relevant to the knowledge needs of various sectors, I work in a transdisciplinary context to understand and advance the use of climate information in decision-making. A co-exploration model facilitates the co-design of climate related information that is user-focused and decision-relevant and engenders a sustainable relationship between different disciplines.

I'm interested in the regional impacts of global warming on fauna and flora threatened with extinction, particularly endemics, under various degrees of global warming.

A relevant paper would be
Lennard et al, 2018. On the need for regional climate information over Africa under varying levels of global warming. Environmental Research Letters. 1-26. doi: 10.1088/1748-9326/aab2b4
Disciplines
I am working on :
Climatology
Conservation Biology
Ornithology
Population Biology
Zoology
Keywords : threat, extinction, climate, endemic, global warming, biodiversity, regional
Project description : I would like to join a project that examines the direct and indirect impacts of global warming in the context of local, regional and global threat and extinction.

I am particularly interested in investigating the impact different degrees of global warming (e.g. 1.5 vs 2 vs 3 vs 4 degrees) will have on regionally endemic species with respect to ranges, density, threat and extinction.
Networking opportunities : CORDEX conference, Beijing - October 2019.
